CARBONDALE, IL (WSIL) -- A handful of local groups have come together for an event called Community Connect to help community members find much-needed resources.
The event is Saturday, September 25, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. It is free, and there will be food and fun. There will also be several resources available for those who fall through the cracks in a community. Some of the resources include information about education, employment, expungement, and eviction. There will be resources for mental, medical, and spiritual health. A 3 point basketball contest will also take place for ages 16-25, along with door prizes, karate lessons, and music.
