(WSIL) -- Southern Illinois Healthcare will limit where visitors can enter its hospitals in Jackson and Williamson Counties due to COVID-19 coronavirus concerns.

Entrance to Carbondale Memorial, Herrin Hospital, and St. Joseph Memorial will only be allowed through the emergency and main entrances.

All visitors to those facilities will need to undergo a brief illness check. Those with certain symptoms such as a fever or cough will be asked to go home.

SIH is enforcing a limited visitor policy. Those under 18 won't be allowed in patient rooms, and there will be a limit of two adult visitors per patient.

SIH has also established a 24 hour hotline to answer COVID-19 questions. Clinicians will be on hand around the clock at 1-844-988-7800.

According to a release from SIH:

This resource is for individuals who believe they may have been exposed to COVID-19 or have symptoms consistent with COVID-19, which include fever, cough and/or shortness of breath. SIH urges the public to call this number or their family doctor before visiting a clinic, physician’s office or emergency department. The SIH COVID-19 hotline is designed to protect the community, healthcare providers and patients from potential spread of the disease.
