CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- The Winter Farmer's Market opened in its new location at the University Mall in Carbondale Saturday morning.
Dozens were out shopping for fresh produce, meats and crafts. Organizers say the University Mall is providing plenty of space between vendors to keep shoppers at a safe distance.
"Very happy with the turnout so far," says Libby Ervin, Farmer's Market Manager. "People are coming, very excited to see what we've got going on, looks like people are going on and doing other shopping in the mall as well, so I think it's a win, win for the community."
Ervin says the new time and new location are working well and the space provides a safe experience and allows for more visitors to shop at the same time
"We just really encourage people to come out and support the market and the makers and just the community in general," says Ervin.
The market is set to open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., until the end of March, except the Saturday after Christmas.
