Practice breakfast tradition

Posted: Updated:

SESSER -- Over the past several years at Sesser, the Red Devils players' moms get together while the team is practicing to cook them breakfast.

All of the food and supplies are donated.

While the players appreciate what their moms are doing, those moms say its a labor of love.

"It's very rewarding," said Angie Gunter.  "You know we get to build a big family with the kids.  The moms get to mingle, get to learn their names.  They get to be comfortable with us.  We just want that family environment."

"It's a true blessing that our moms will do that for us," said Red Devils' senior quarterback Peyton Bates.  "It's just a time for all of us to bond and fellowship together.  It's truly a blessing."

The Red Devils have two more morning practices before school starts Thursday.

And the moms will be there to put out a breakfast spread.
