SPRINGFIELD (WSIL)-- Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation will be hosting a ceremony honoring Trooper Brooke Jones-Story.
Jones-Story's name will be added to the memorial wall in the ISP Memorial Park located at 615 East Lawrence in Springfield on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
The ISP Memorial Park honors and pays tribute to ISP officers who've lost their life while serving. Jones-Story will be among 69 other ISP officers who have been killed in the line of duty.
Jones-Story tragically lost her life in the line of duty in March this year, when she was struck by a vehicle while she was inspecting a commercial motor vehicle.
Illinois State Police Acting Director Brendan Kelly said during this challenging time for the ISP family, they will continue to hold their heads high and fulfill every ISP mission.
“This memorial park honors the men and women of the Illinois State Police who selflessly laid down their lives for others. It is our duty to continue to honor their memory and legacy by caring for our ISP families through fellowships and ceremonies such as these. ” Kelly said.
