TORRINGTON, Conn. (WSIL) -- The fugitive who promised to turn himself in if he got 15 thousand Facebook likes has kept his word and is now in police custody.

About a month ago, we first told you about the man who was wanted for 'failure to appear'.

29-year-old Jose Simms went back and forth with police in Connecticut (via Facebook) negotiating the terms of his surrender.

He agreed to turn himself in if the Torrington Police could get 20,000 likes on the Facebook post with his wanted poster. Torrington Police countered with 10,000 likes, and they settled on 15,000 likes.
