WSIL -- The Stage Company in Carbondale brings the production, "Five Women Wearing the Same Dress" to the stage later this week.
Performances are April 5-7 and 11-14. Showtimes are Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. at the Varsity Center for the Arts.
The story is by Alan Ball and is a comedy/drama. During an ostentatious wedding reception at a Knoxville, Tennessee, estate, five reluctant, identically clad bridesmaids hide out in an upstairs bedroom, each with her own reason to avoid the proceedings below. As the afternoon wears on, these five very different women joyously discover a common bond in this wickedly funny, irreverent and touching celebration of the woman's spirit. It will be directed by Rita Medina.
