Unique Valentine's Day gift ideas

Posted: Updated:

WSIL -- Valentine's Day is 48 hours away and that means time is ticking for getting a gift. If you want something beyond the typical flowers and candy, we have some unique ideas. In most cases you'll still be able to get your hands on some of these items in time for the holiday.

First up gold dipped roses. Philadelphia jeweler Steven Singer makes it happen. He's been dipping roses in gold for years now. These are real roses that are preserved and guaranteed to last a lifetime. Starting cost is 60 bucks and shipping is free. I talked with someone on the company's site and they assure me that as long as you order by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12 you'll get the gift by Thursday.

Nothing says love quite like a pair of personalized socks. My Face Socks allows you to upload a photo and get it printed on a pair of socks. There's a variety of styles and colors and there's an option to print your face on boxer shorts, panties and leggings. Right now shoppers can save up to 50 percent on orders. Check before ordering if you're wanting Valentine's Day delivery.

Do you remember where you and your Valentine first met? You'll never forget with the "Coordinates Bracelet." You can get the coordinates of the place where you and your loved one met, got engaged or tied the knot. The bracelet comes in a variety of bands and designs start at $24. You simply go to their website and enter the address you want the coordinates for and the site takes care of the rest.

For something local, there's still time to get a wine passport through the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. The passport costs $15 and is valid through the end of the month. Each time your visit a participating winery, you get a stamp. Turn in your passport and you could win prizes. Participating wineries also offer discounts this month to passport holders.
