SESSER, Ill. -- Coal Street at the railroad crossing in Sesser will be closed for at least a day as investigators try to determine why a man was walking across the tracks as a train was approaching. The man was hit just before 7 p.m. Monday, but is expected to recover.
The man was airlifted to a hospital, but police tell News 3 he is expected to be okay. Police say the conductor stopped after the train hit the man who was walking across the tracks.
