Father faces multiple charges after 3-month-old dies

MARION, Ill. -- Williamson County State's Attorney Brandon Zanotti now says the death of a 3-month-old in Marion is being treated a homicide investigation.

No new charges have been filed against the boys father Devin A. O'Daniell at this point. Zanotti says more evidence needs to processed. His office is also awaiting pathology and autopsy reports from an out of state agency.

O'Daniell is being held on $1 million bond at the Williamson County Jail.

MARION, Ill. -- Multiple agencies are investigating a child's death in Marion.

On Friday, Nov. 23, Marion Police responded to a domestic dispute on Meadowland Pkwy. Investigators say a woman there reported her 3-month-old son had been abused.

That child was taken to a hospital in St. Louis and died on Monday.

The baby's father, Devin A. O'Daniell, faces aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery to a child and domestic battery charges.

Williamson County State's Attorney Brandon Zanotti is now reviewing the case along with the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit, the Southern Illinois Child Death Task Force, Marion Police, and the Department of Children and Family Services.

The victim's mother says his organs will be donated and will help two children and one adult.

O'Daniell is due in court on Dec. 10.
