Republican candidates rally in support for AG candidate Erika Harold

MARION -- Just a day before the election, Illinois GOP Candidates gathered at the Veterans Airport in Marion for a "Get Out The Vote Rally," in support of Attorney General candidate Erika Harold.

"We have got to take the House away from Mike Madigan and we can do it if we turn out and vote on Tuesday," said Patrick Windhorst, a candidate for State Representative.

Windhorst took to the podium just one day ahead of the election, encouraging everyone to get out and vote. Other GOP candidates, like State Representative Terri Bryant, who's up for re-election, said in order for Illinois to move forward, we need more republicans in office, including Attorney General Candidate Erika Harold.

"When I talk about Erika Harold, I am able to talk about a story of a woman who says what she's going to do and then she accomplishes it," said Bryant.

When Harold took to the podium she said if elected, it'll be her priority to fight corruption in Illinois politics.

"I will be an Attorney General that works to hold people accountable and I will be an Attorney General that will be an independent check in Springfield," said Harold.

Harold added another priority will be to fight the opioid crisis by pushing for more prevention efforts in schools and streamlining resources for those seeking help.

"One of the ways we can actually save lives is to let people know where there are facilities available and make it easier for them to have access to it," said Harold.

Congressman Mike Bost wrapped up the event by saying Illinois is in desperate need of change, adding the state hasn't seen a candidate like Erika Harold in a very long time.

"We need an Attorney General who has true vision of what the job is, to make sure that when something needs prosecuted, that they prosecute, making sure that they are that voice for us," said Harold.

Harold left the airport just 40 minutes after she arrived and boarded a jet, on her way to four more events like this one in her final push before election day.
