Scuba gear recalled due to drowning hazard

Posted: Updated:

WSIL -- Scuba divers should be aware of a recall of a buoyancy control devices (BCD) which pose a drowning hazard.

Zeagle Sport is recalling five models of its Sport BCD inflators because buttons on the BCD inflators can break, leading to loss of air or auto inflation of the BCD, which could cause a diver to drown. BCDs are used to help a diver maintain buoyancy under water during scuba diving.

This recall involves Zeagle Sport BCD inflators; the models include Sport Base, Sport Resort, Sport Base Plus, Sport Resort Plus, and Sport Focus.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled BCDs and call Zeagle at 888-270-8595 for instructions on how to receive a free replacement.
