Jackson County faces potential fine from IRS

Posted: Updated:

MURPHYSBORO, Ill. -- Jackson County faces a possible $36,000 fine from the IRS.

Board chairman John Rendleman said the county didn't properly fill out some W-2 forms in 2015.

He said it was a simple mistake and plans to meet with an IRS agent Wednesday.

Rendleman believes the agency won't actually impose the fine.
