CARBONDALE, Ill.—Carbondale ESD #95 is introducing more Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports assistance into classrooms.

The initiative works to provide aid for behavioral health management for students, parents and positive reinforcement in classrooms that rewards students for good behaviors. Pupil Services Director Zeppelyn Brewer said the district is able to use more money for their programs that was originally allocated to academics.

"But now the state as well as the federal government is looking at ways to help support school districts in the area of social, emotional, behavioral supports," said Brewer.
