Crews investigate overnight fire in Franklin County

WEST FRANKFORT, Ill. -- The State Fire Marshal is now investigating on overnight fire in West Frankfort.

Flames engulfed the back of the home when fire fighters arrived.

Multiple agencies from Franklin and Williamson Counties were on scene until about 8:30 a.m. putting out the flames.

Investigators say nobody was home at the time of the fire
 

ORIGINAL STORY

WEST FRANKFORT, Ill. -- Several fire departments from both Franklin and Williamson Counties are on the scene of a house fire in Franklin County. That fire started around 3:15 a.m. on Tuesday at a house on 2200 block of East Elm Street in West Frankfort.

News 3's Dave Davis is on the scene. A firefighter tells Dave he believes the house is 'vacant'. There are no reports of any injuries at this time.
