Popcorn drive to benefit Gumdrops program

Posted: Updated:

CARTERVILLE, Ill. -- Friday (Oct. 12) is the final home game of the season for the Carterville High School football team. The school's Interact Club is celebrating with a popcorn drive.

The students work with the Carterville Rotary Club and will be collecting microwave popcorn for the Gumdrops program. That's a group that provides weekend meals to students in need in more than 30 southern Illinois schools.

Fans from both Carterville and Pinckneyville are invited to bring microwave popcorn to the game. Students will be set up for the first half.
