Sensory-friendly haunted house

Posted: Updated:

MARION, Ill. -- The Marion Carnegie Library invited children with autism to explore their sensory room.

It gives them a chance to experience different shapes and materials in a calm environment.

This room took on a haunted house theme, and even offered a practice trick-or-treat session, where children could learn what to expect on Halloween.

The library hopes the room can be a welcoming alternative to a full-scale haunted house.

The library hopes to host several sensory rooms a year, and will be scheduling other events in the future.
