New Poll: Downstate voters more likely to support candidates accused of sexual harassment

Posted: Updated:

WSIL -- The latest poll from the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute takes on the question of "How Well Do We Understand Sexual Harassment?"

The #MeToo movement has been exposing the problem nationwide and in October 2017, more than 130 people signed an open letter alleging widespread sexual harassment in Illinois politics.

The poll found 51 percent of those surveyed believed people had a better understanding of sexual harassment.

41 percent of downstate voters also said they would still consider voting for a candidate who had been accused of sexual harassment by more than one person.
