WSIL -- The Alzheimer's Association has planned a pair of walks to raise awareness about the disease.
More than 220,000 people in Illinois are living with Alzheimer's disease. It is currently the sixth leading cause of death in this country. The first walk is Saturday, Sept. 22 at Campus Lake in Carbondale. The opening ceremony is at 9:30 a.m.
A second walk is planned Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Marion VA Medical Center. It's set to begin at 9:45 a.m.
