CARBONDALE, Ill-- Southern Illinois University's Student Programming Council announced late Friday night that they have booked a big-name pop star to perform at the university this fall.

In a Facebook video post on SPC's page, actor and singer Jesse McCartney said that he will be in Carbondale to perform at the Shryock Auditorium on Saturday night October 13th at 7:30 p. m.

Historically, the building is no stranger to hosting big-named acts, as its hosted the likes of guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughn in 1984 and the band Depeche Mode in 1985.

Tickets go on sale Monday morning at 9 a. m. and are $10 for SIU students, and $20 for general admission.
