Route 146 detour July 18-20

Posted: Updated:

WSIL -- Drivers in Union County may need to find an alternate route if they usually drive on Route 146.

Starting Wednesday, July 18th, Route 146 will be closed under the Interstate 57 bridge so construction crews can work on the bridge.

The construction should be complete, and the road reopened by Friday, July 20th, at 7:00 a.m.

The on and off ramps to the interstate will be open, and will be used for detouring around the closure.

Drivers headed eastbound on Rte. 146 will be directed onto I-57 to use the Dongola exit to change directions.

Drivers headed westbound on Rte. 146 will follow signs onto I-57 and use the Lick Creek exit to change directions and then back onto 146.

You should expect and plan for delays if you travel this route.
