DU QUOIN -- With the summer season getting into full swing, the area's best high school baseball players took to the field one last time donning their school colors for the SIBCA All-star game.

With players representing the South 7-Black Diamond-Midland Trail- and independent conferences, taking on the Greater Egyptian-South Egpytian-River-to-River conferences.

Bottom of the 1st, Goreville's Chance Duringer belts one into far right field, that stays fair.. Chester's Curtis Meyer scores, but Eldorado's Kale Oglesby gets caught up in a pickle and is tagged out.

Top of the 6th, Crab Orchard's Seth Quertermous grounds to short, but reaches on an error, allowing Harrisburg's Carson Burtis to score, game is tied at 1-1.

Top of the 7th, runner on third base, Carterville's Cole Sizemore grounds out to second, but Pope County's Nick Walker crosses the plate to make it 2-1

As the Great Egyptian-South Egyptian-River-to-River Allstars win it 4-2.

Following the senior all-star game, the underclassmen duked it out as well, and the South 7-Black Diamond-Midland Trail All-stars win it 5-4.

    CARBONDALE -- Saturday's rain didn't stop the fight against Alzheimer’s. Around 150 people carried umbrellas to take part in the "Walk to End Alzhiemer's at SIU's Campus Lake.
