Free Medical Screening in Harrisburg

UPDATE 7:18 a. m.--  There is a new start time for medical screenings being held on Sunday, June 24, and Wednesday, June 27.

Organizers say times for both dates have changed and screenings are set to start 8 a.m. and end at 1 p. m. at Harrisburg Middle School.

Every other day will go on as scheduled with the event set to end on Wednesday.


HARRISBURG, Ill. --  The Defense Department, Delta Leadership Authority, and the Egyptian Health Department are teaming up for free medical, dental, and optical screenings for people of all ages in our region.

Officials say anyone who needs care, can get it and will receive it on a first-come, first-served basis.

They are even providing free eyeglasses to those who need it, and you will get those glasses on the same day.

Screenings are being held until June 27th at the Harrisburg Middle School every day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Except for June 24 and June 26 when the hours will be 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

On June 27, the clinic will close at noon.

    WSIL -- The first disaster relief volunteers with the Illinois Baptist State Association (IBSA) are on their way to Lumberton, North Carolina. The Illinois crews come from a trained pool of about 1,700 volunteers and are a part of the larger Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, which is the country's largest aid organization next to the Red Cross and Salvation Army.
