Biking across the country for a good cause

Posted: Updated:

CARBONDALE -- A group of cyclists are traveling across the country to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis.

The organization is called Bike the U.S. for M.S. The group gains sponsors who pay a dollar for every mile they bike.

This group started in Washington, D.C. and will end in San Francisco, CA. They pedaled through Carbondale Wednesday.

Among them, a woman from Holland. She suffers from MS and says the trip is difficult for her, but the support of those around her helps keep her moving forward.

"Because of all the people here, it makes it possible to do it and they help me in every way they can and they really want us to finish this tour and they are going out of their way to help us," Mirjam Buren said.>

You can visit this website to support the organization and visit their Facebook page for updates on their journey.
