Miners' bats erupt, snap five-game skid

MARION - The Southern Illinois Miners most recent home stand started 0-5.  The team was hoping to get the win on Sunday to avoid being swept in back-to-back series and snap a five-game losing skid.

The Miners hosting the Washington Wild Things.

The teams plated runs in the first inning and a half as the Washington Wild Things led 3-2 after two innings.

The Miners bats came alive in the fourth scoring five runs in the inning.

The Miners tacked on three more en route to a 10-4 win.

Southern Illinois will travel to Normal for three games beginning Tuesday night.  They will then head to Evansville for a three-game weekend series.
