Crash near Benton shuts down part of Interstate 57

BENTON--- The north and southbound passing lanes of Interstate 57 near mile marker 68 are closed after a Saturday morning crash.

An official with the Franklin County Emergency Management Agency tells News 3 that a semi-car hauler overturned at the location, causing both lanes to be shut down.

Drivers are being asked to use caution while traveling in that area.

    JACKSON COUNTY--  Even though school let out for the summer kids are continuing their learning by attending Southern Illinois University Carbondale Camp. The camp  gives kids ages 6  to 18--the chance to learn survival skills: building shelters,  using a map and compass , --- and zipling.  SIU Summer Camp Leaders say-- kids and young adults were able to be a part of different groups.
