ILLINOIS-- According to The Alzheimer’s Association June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month. The goal is to increase public awareness of Alzheimer’s disease, available resources and how people can get involved to support the cause.

Alzheimer's is a progressive mental deterioration that can occur in middle or old age. Memory loss and confusion are the main symptoms.

The Association states every 65 seconds, someone develops Alzheimer’s disease in the US. People are asked to attend education programs, support groups or fundraising events; understand the benefits of early diagnosis and clinical research; know where to find support and resources; turning their towns and cities purple, and more.
