Changes are coming to McDonald's

CARBONDALE-- Drivers in Carbondale could see some relief from traffic jams around Walmart on Main Street. That could be thanks to a change at the McDonald's on East Main Street.

The owner of the McDonald's in Carbondale, Stephanie Bishop, says the fast food restaurant is about to get two drive-thru lanes. That means no more waiting around for orders and maybe even alleviating traffic even during construction.

Bishop said, "We're going to start to stay open during construction, but we hope to get a new exterior look, interior look. The side by side drive through, where you can have two order points or course we will do the mobile ordering, the inside kiosk. and a new play area for the kids to come in and play."

Drivers hope with an even quicker fast food drive thru, they won't have to go around cars to get to all the neighboring businesses.

Helen Roseman said, "I think it will potentially help the business a lot because I know the line gets really backed up and I personally get tired of waiting and I get like, let's go somewhere else."

Bishop said as of now construction is set for this June.
