Suspect leads police on 10-hour manhunt

Posted: Updated:

BENTON -- Police pursued an armed man into the woods just west of the Benton City Park. That search would continue through the night until the man was arrested. It is an experience that one woman says she will never forget.

Kim Chwascinski was vising her mother Friday morning when the manhunt for Phillip R. Johsu ended just a few blocks from Chwasincski.

Joshu has a criminal history of selling meth and felony possession of a weapon, all out of Macon County.

"You just look at life a whole different way when something like that happens. We do take life for granted," Chwasincski said.
