Construction ahead of schedule for new high school in Bluford

Posted: Updated:

BLUFORD -- Construction of the new Webber Township High School in Bluford is ahead of schedule.

That's according to superintendent John Ashby.

Officials broke ground on the new school in November and Ashby said it should be ready for students by December, just in time for the semester to start after winter break.

Ashby said the old school will be used as foundation for the new school.

"One of the neat things is that the old high school is recycled and grounded into gravel," Ashby said. "That'll be the base for the new high school."

High school students are currently housed in the Bluford grade school building next door.
