JACKSON CO. --    Students can celebrate Black History Month with southern Illinois TV Journalists.

The Black History Month Media Event for Youth will be held Saturday, February 17th at the Carbondale African American Museum.

Middle and high school students are invited to chat with African American reporters and anchors from our region.

They'll also participate in hands-on media training and activities.

There will be giveaways and lunch will also be provided.

News 3's own Evie Allen, Hannah Gebresilassie, Brandon Richard, and Jordan Taylor will participate.

News 3 Evening Anchor Carolyn Cerda will moderate the panel discussion.

The program is free, but you must register your child in advance as space is limited.

You can do that by emailing blackhistorymediaprogram@gmail.com or visit the event's Facebook Page for more information.
