Shooting suspect in custody after 1 killed, 2 injured in Poplar Bluff, Mo

POPLAR BLUFF, MO -- One person is dead and two others injured after a shooting Thursday night. 

Poplar Bluff Police Department responded to a home in the 1100 block of Franklin Street, after receiving a call about a man inside with a gun.

Officers say when they arrived, they heard gunshots. Ricky Davis Jr. was arrested a short time later. Officers entered the home and found Janice Thomas, 36, of Poplar Bluff, suffering fatal gunshot wounds. Two additional victims, Ladaijha Thomas, 19, of Poplar Bluff and Oshay Thomas, 25, of New Madrid, Missouri, were found suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both Ladaijha and Oshay were transported to a local medical facility for treatment of their injuries. Three other people in the house were not harmed.

Davis is being held at the Butler County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges.
