Selling Super Bowl ribs for a good cause

Posted: Updated:

MARION -- Your Super Bowl spread, could help people in need. The Community of Faith Church is selling ribs for Super Bowl Sunday outside of the Marion Sam's Club.

For the last six years, the church has set up outside the store selling "award winning" racks of ribs. This year the money raised will help pay for a medical surgical trip to Liberia in March.

16 medical professionals from the area will volunteer to preform the minor surgeries.

“We will basically set up a MASH hospital and do about 250 surgical cases. These rib purchases go to help us buy the medical supplies, medicines and things to complete that,” said Reverend Troy Benitone.

Church leaders say most of the 3.5 million people living in Liberia have never seen a doctor.

You can buy ribs to help support the cause at Sam's Club Friday until it closes, and Saturday starting at 10 a.m. and going until they sell out.
