CARBONDALE --  A day after participating in the Democratic governor’s forum at Southern Illinois University, gubernatorial candidate J.B. Pritzker landed key endorsements from several Jackson County leaders.

State’s Attorney Michael C. Carr, Sheriff Robert Burns, County Clerk and Recorder Larry W. Reinhardt, Regional Superintendent of Schools Cheryl Graff, County Coroner Dr. Thomas W. Kupferer, Circuit Court Clerk Cindy R. Svanda, County Treasurer Sharon Harris-Johnson and County Supervisor of Assessment Maureen Berkowitz endorsed Pritzker, according to his campaign.

“I’m so proud to have the endorsement of leaders and public servants in Jackson County,” said J.B. Pritzker. “Together, we’re going to put Springfield back on the side of working families by investing in education and creating jobs in all of our communities. This is a statewide, grassroots campaign and I am thrilled to see leaders and working families in every corner of Illinois coming together to defeat Bruce Rauner.”

“I know J.B. Pritzker will be a champion for children and families across the state. He is committed to education and has put forward real proposals to invest in our communities. With JB as governor, I know we can get all students in Illinois the quality education they deserve,” said Regional Superintendent of Schools Cheryl Graff.

The Jackson County leaders join Illinois Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth, the Illinois AFL-CIO, and over 30 individual unions endorsing Pritzker’s campaign.

The Democratic primary is March 20.
