JEFFERSON CO. -- Saturday marks 25 years since a woman's head was found at Wayne Fitzgerald State Park.

The woman has still not been identified all these years later.

According to news reports at the time, two little girls running through the park stumbled upon a white female's head on Jan. 27, 1993.

Anthropologists with the University of Illinois estimated she was anywhere from 30 to 50 years old.

They say the woman had wry neck, a condition which causes stress on the muscles that keep head posture upright.

They believe it may have been caused from previous head trauma.

Anyone with any information that would help identify this unidentified victim is urged to contact Illinois State Police, Zone 7 Investigations at 618-542-1137 or call Crimestoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS(8477).
