8-year-old Marion boy getting birthday of his dreams

WILLIAMSON COUNTY -- An-8-year old Williamson County boy may be getting the birthday of his dreams thanks to small acts of kindness from complete strangers.

It all started with a Facebook post from the boy's father.

Eight year old Aiden Racicot loves playing video games, but he's kind of shy.

Last year only two kids showed up for Aiden's birthday party.

"Last year he was really disappointed so I wanted to avoid that this year," said his father Matt Racicot.

So Aiden's Dad wrote a Facebook post simply asking parents with kids around Aiden's age to show up to avoid a repeat of last year.

"And no one ends up showing so it's disappointing for the parents and heartbreaking for the kids and that's not what you want for your kid," added Matt.

The response to that post was mind blowing.

"Think it was 900 likes, close to 500 comments and close to 250 shares so far and the party isn't till next Saturday," added Matt.

That made Aiden pretty happy too.

Leaving a big smile on the face of a very deserving 8 year old.

"Yeah I think we're going to make this birthday a good one for him," added Matt.

Proof that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

"It's pretty great, yeah," said Aiden.

Aiden's birthday party will be Saturday February 3rd at the Carbondale Science Center, it starts at 11 a.m.
