Eldorado, Herrin and SVW girls pick up wins at West Frankfort

WEST FRANKFORT -- The weather delayed second day of the West Frankfort Mid-Winter Classic saw Eldorado cruise to a win on the boys' side with Herrin and Sesser-Valier/Waltonville picking up close wins on the girls' side.

The unbeaten Eagles looked the part, pulling away from Christopher for a 77-54 win.  Eldorado is now 18-0, while Christopher falls to 12-4.

Herrin opened the night with a 39-35 win over Pinckneyville in girls play.  The Tigers are 2-0  in the tournament.

S-V/Waltonville bounced back from suffering its first defeat Saturday with a 50-46 win over West Frankfort.  The Red Devils led by 12 after three, but had to hold off a late Lady Redbird rally for the win.

Play will continue Wednesday with three boys games:  Herrin/Cairo, West Frankfort/Anna-Jonesboro, and Carterville/Marion.
