WSIL -- Hong Kong Buffet is at the bottom of our Restaurant Report Card this week. The Williamson County inspector gave the buffet an 83. Of the ten violations found, one of them was critical.

It was a four point loss because there was no sanitzer at the dish machine. Two points were taken away because there were no paper towels at the hand sink. Food was being stored on the freezer floor, which was also a two point loss. Another two points got taken away because some food equipment was damaged and needed to be replaced. Food items need to have the dates on them and there were a handful of cleaning problems noted too.

Steak 'n Shake in Carbondale got an 89. The Jackson County inspector found one critical violation there too. It was a five point loss because the under counter refrigerator was not cool enough. The temperature ranged between 45 and 48 degrees, it's supposed to be 41 of lower. When the inspector returned later in the month, the cooler had been fixed. Equipment, utensils, walls and the floor all needed to be cleaned better too.

The Mt. Vernon Applebee's got a 95. The Jefferson County inspector reminded employees about the proper storage of utensils. Non-food contact surfaces also needed to be cleaned after food debris was found on the grill.

The Saline County inspector gave the Barbecue Barn in Harrisburg a 97. Points were taken away because the walls and floor needed to be cleaned better and some food wasn't properly labeled.

The Franklin County inspector gave La Fiesta in West Frankfort a 98. The wire shelves in the walk in cooler needed to be cleaned.
