Restaurant Report Card: Fast food joints

Posted: Updated:

WSIL -- Here's a look at the scores from fast food joints around the region. These are the inspection reports from December 2017.

The Franklin County inspector gave both the McDonald's and Sonic in West Frankfort 98. Long John Silver's there received a 97 so did Christopher's Dairy Queen. Sonic in town got a 94. One critical violation there was found, and that was the weather sealing needed to be fixed on the back door. Hardee's in West Frankfort got a 94.

The Jackson County inspector didn't take away any points from the Sonic in Carbondale. Panda Express received a 94. The three compartment sink didn't have enough sanitizer solution, that was a critical violation and the McDonald's on Route 51 south earned a 92. The food prep table was too warm. That was a five point deduction, but the problem was later fixed.

In Williamson County, all locations are in Marion. Dairy Queen was perfect. Long John Silver's received a 96. It was 95 for Back Yard Burgers, Burger King, Fazoli's and Panda Express. Hardee's was a point lower with a 94 and Subway got a 92. One critical violation was noted and that was for a fly strip found by the backdoor.
