Three dead in Massac County crash, 2 children

MASSAC CO. -- Three people died in a crash in Massac County on Thursday, including two young children.

It happened just before 6:30 a.m. when a Kia Soul ran off the road on U.S. 45.

The driver was originally traveling north, but overcorrected and collided held on with a Chrysler. A Chevrolet Traverse then rear-ended the Chrysler.

23-year-old Rachel E. Killian of Marion, a one-year-old and a three-year old all died as a result of injuries. All three victims were traveling in the Kia Soul. 

State police said lanes on the road were closed for three and a half hours for cleanup.
