Plumbing to be replaced at Quincy veterans' home

QUINCY -- Governor Rauner said the state will replace plumbing at a Quincy veterans' home to hopefully prevent further outbreaks of Legionnaires' Disease.

Last week, the governor stayed at the home where 13 residents have died from Legionnaires' since 2015.

Rauner said water pipes will be replaced and he's considering building a new dorm.

The plumbing renovation could cost taxpayers as much as $30 million.
