Paducah adopts anti-discrimination LGBT law

Posted: Updated:

PADUCAH -- Paducah is now the ninth city in Kentucky to adopt anti-discrimination laws for gay, lesbian and transgender residents.

The new policy prohibits discriminating against LGBT individuals in areas such as employment, housing and public accommodations.

One voting member of the Paducah Commission tried to add an amendment exempting business owners on a religious basis, but that move failed.

The law does, however, exclude religious charities and organizations.
