Kew Gardens in Herrin received an 87 from the health inspector last month. The spot had one critical violation. It was a five point loss because raw eggs were left out of the refrigerator. The food in question was thrown away at the time of the inspection. There was a leak at the dish machine. That was a two point loss. Another two points were taken away because some food wasn't covered in the walk in cooler. The refrigerator needed to be cleaned better too.

The inspector reminded employees to clean equipment like pans, a grill and a steamer better. Surfaces like table tops, the floor and walls also needed to be cleaned.
