Posted: Updated:

WSIL -- Fast food is a popular choice anytime, but with the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, drive thrus are even more crowded. We'll be taking a look at fast food inspection reports over the next couple of weeks.

In Jackson County, McDonald's East in Carbondale scored a 96. McDonald's in Murphysboro received an 86. Two critical violations were found. Food in the sandwich prep cooler was nearly 20 degrees too warm. It was thrown out and four more points were taken away because the back door needed to be sealed at the bottom.

The KFC-Taco Bell in Murphysboro got a 93. No critical violations were found, but there were a handful of cleaning problems noted. Carbondale's Long John Silver's received an 88. One critical violation was found, improper sanitizer solution levels were noted in the dish washing area.

The Saline County inspector didn't take away any points from the Arby's in Harrisburg.
