Salukis can't finish at St. Louis

Posted: Updated:

ST. LOUIS, MO -- The St. Louis Billikens scored 22 of the final 32 points to hold off SIU 74-69 and snap a four-game losing streak in the process.

The Salukis held a 57-52 lead after Marcus Bartley hit a pair of free throws with 8:21 to play, but SIU managed only three field goals the rest of the way.  Bartley finished with 12 points and three assists in 23 minutes in his Saluki debut.  He sat out last year after transferring from St. Louis, and then missed the first six games this season due to a wrist injury.

Former Althoff standout Jordan Goodwin led the Billikens.  The freshman finished with 20 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.

Jonathan Wiley led five Salukis in double figures with a career high 19.  Bartley and Armon Fletcher had 12 each with Sean Lloyd added 11 and Kavion Pippen ten.

The Salukis fall to 4-3.  They will host Southeast Missouri State Saturday night.
