Authorities investigating standoff in Harrisburg

UPDATE: WEDNESDAY, DEC. 6, 2017 -- 7:59 P.M. 

HARRISBURG -- The Saline County Sheriff's Department confirmed an armed standoff happened at an apartment complex off West Barnett Street and South Land Street, involving one gunman.

Sgt. Todd Cavender told News 3 no one was injured and two people were arrested and taken to Saline County Jail.

Neighbors told News 3 police came knocking on their doors just after 6 p.m., telling them they needed to evacuate immediately.

A woman who lives right next door is thankful she and her family are safe, and called the situation "terrifying." The woman waited three hours before she and her family could go back home.

The Saline County Sheriff's Department is leading the investigation.

ORIGINAL STORY: TUESDAY, DEC. 5, 2017 -- 11:10 P.M.

HARRISBURG -- Police responded to a standoff situation at the Saline County Housing complex in Harrisburg.

The Saline County Sheriff's Department confirmed the standoff happened at an apartment complex on West Barnett Street just before 8:00 p.m. 

Witnesses say they saw multiple people taken out of the apartment building.
