Kids raise money to keep Herrin Youth Center open

HERRIN -- Staff and kids with the Herrin Youth Center are asking for donations to keep the center open.

They stood at the corner of 11th and Herrin Streets raising money to help pay bills owed by the struggling center.

Business director Lisa Ahmed said the center provides art and economics classes, as well as helps students with homework.

She also said the center provides weekly meals for impoverished students.
