Kentucky leaders seeking public input for Bible class standards

Posted: Updated:

KENTUCKY -- Kentucky Education leaders want input in developing Bible literacy standards for social studies courses in public schools.

State lawmakers passed a bill this year requiring education leaders to set guidelines for schools that offer elective courses, such as Hebrew scriptures, Old Testament and New Testaments of the Bible.

The courses will focus on the historical impact and literary style of those texts.
