WSIL -- Illinois is looking for a new leader for the state's Emergency Management Agency after James Joseph left the role to take a job with FEMA.

He will now serve as a regional administrator overseeing six states, including Illinois.

Joseph has more than 15 years of experience and said he looks forward to better preparing the region for potential natural disasters.

Governor Bruce Rauner appointed Joseph Klinger to serve as interim director of IEMA.

He's served as the agency's deputy director since 2015.
