Police investigate armed robbery at Staples in Carbondale

WSIL -- Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Saturday night at Staples in Carbondale.

Lt. Matt Dunning, with the Carbondale Police Department, said officers were dispatched to the store, located at 1325 E. Main, at 6:30 p.m.

Officers learned a man displayed a handgun and demanded money from an employee. 

The suspect is described as a black male, 6'3", weighing 200 pounds.

He was wearing a black hoodie and black pants, and was seen leaving the parking lot heading eastbound in a newer white vehicle.
